2nd Annual Concert On Thursday, November 9, around 50 sixth through eighth graders from the Integrated Academy of Studies will take the stage in the gym at Arizona Charter Academy (ACA) to sing a number of songs that honor our nation’s veterans. The second annual “A Concert For Our Veterans” will begin at 10 a.m. and will include a light breakfast for those in the audience. ACA Elementary Participates in Red Ribbon Week for Drug Prevention
This week, ACA's Kinder-5th grade population participated in the National Red Ribbon Week campaign to promote drug awareness and prevention to our students. Students were able to participate in a spirit week, where they dressed up each day and had conversations about what staying "drug free" means. Each student was given a red bracelet with this years theme "Your Future is Key to Stay Drug Free" On Thursday we had a "Red Out" and students and staff all wore red! Wacky Wear da


ACA Kindergarten Visits the Farm!
ACA Kindergartners had a GREAT time at Tolmachoff Farms before Fall Break. Students learned about the difference between fruits and vegetables. Students and their parents were able to pick crops from the farm. Every student got to pick a pumpkin at the pumpkin patch before they left! Students picked zucchini, cucumber, radishes and Swiss chard! They had a blast!


Computer Science for Innovators Class
Here's a quick peek into our Computer Science for Innovators class. This class is offered in our Integrated Academy of Studies for Middle Schoolers at ACA. The class was working with various inputs. Professional Development for ACA Teachers is a Top Priority!
In the hot month of July when students are still enjoying their last weeks of summer vacation, ACA teachers are already in full school mode. All new ACA teachers receive 2 full weeks of specialized professional development and all returning teachers, regardless of how long they have been teaching still receive a full week of customized professional development before the first day of school. ACA's Historical Literacy Class Gets Donation to Buy Books
One of the Houses of Studies in our Integrated Academy of Studies is Civics. Under the civics umbrella we offer a number of electives, one of those is our Historical Literacy class taught by Mrs. Salazar. Recently, Mrs. Salazar class received a check from a woman's book club to purchase more historical novels! Integrated Academy of Studies Students Participate in Character Playbook with NFL and United Way
The NFL and United Way have a digital learning initiative that "teaches students the skills to cultivate character and maintain healthy relationships" which deals directly with Cyber Bullying and working through conflict.
