2nd Annual Concert On Thursday, November 9, around 50 sixth through eighth graders from the Integrated Academy of Studies will take the stage in the gym at Arizona Charter Academy (ACA) to sing a number of songs that honor our nation’s veterans. This week, ACA's Kinder-5th grade population participated in the National Red Ribbon Week campaign to promote drug awareness and prevention to our students. Students were able to participate in a spirit week, where they dressed up each day and had conversations about what staying "drug free" means. ACA Kindergartners had a GREAT time at Tolmachoff Farms before Fall Break. Students learned about the difference between fruits and vegetables. Students and their parents were able to pick crops from the farm. Every student got to pick a pumpkin at the pumpkin patch before they left! Students picked zucchini, cucumber, radishes and Swiss chard! They had a blast!

All new ACA teachers receive 2 full weeks of specialized professional development and all returning teachers, regardless of how long they have been teaching still receive a full week of customized professional development before the first day of school. Under the civics umbrella we offer a number of electives, one of those is our Historical Literacy class taught by Mrs. Salazar.
