3rd Grade Teacher for the 2020-2021 School Year

3rd Grade Teachers hold primary responsibility for the implementation and development of
Arizona Charter Academy’s curriculum and the success of its students. Therefore, Arizona
Charter Academy seeks teachers who are committed to continuously improving curriculum and instruction through collaboration as part of a grade level and/or content team.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Teacher will show unwavering commitment to all students achieving greatness

  • Teacher will create a positive, structured learning environment to ensure that students observe the school’s core values, high expectations, and code of conduct

  • Teachers implement curricula and activities to meet academic standards

  • Teachers use assessment data to refine curriculum and inform instructional practices

  • Teachers participate in collaborative curriculum mastery, data analysis, grade-level activities, and school-wide functions

  • Teachers provide consistent rewards and/or consequences for student behavior

  • Teachers are accountable for students’ mastery of academic standards

  • Teachers communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues

  • Teachers exhibit resilience to persevere and turn challenges into opportunities

  • The teacher commits to continual professional growth, participating actively in department meetings, faculty meetings, and other meetings

  • Teachers participate in a two-week staff orientation and training before school begins, monthly professional development and weekly individual coaching

Qualifications

  • Mastery of, and enthusiasm for academic subjects (especially core subjects of English

Language Arts (ELA), Math, Science or History)

  • Evidence of self-motivation and willingness to be a team player

  • Bachelor’s degree is required

  • Belief in and alignment with Arizona Charter Academy’s core beliefs and educational philosophy is non-negotiable

Middle School Science teachers are responsible for the implementation and development of Arizona Charter Academy’s science curriculum and the success of its students.   • Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree and an Arizona Teaching Certificate in Science (preferred) or have 24 college credits in Science courses or have passed the NES/AEPA Science test.

  • Hold a valid fingerprint clearance card
