ACA Music Department Awarded Guitar Center Music Grant

In this only our second year of having a full music program at Arizona Charter Academy, the program is already growing and expanding/adding more choirs! To make matters better, the program was just awarded the Guitar Center Music grant to help buy more musical instruments for future guitar classes. Instrumental music will be a part of the middle school Integrated Academy of Studies. Learn more about our Integrated Academy of Studies HERE.

Mrs. Rachel Crossman, our Music Department Director says "My goal is to have a guitar class next year, and this will help us buy a few instruments to get started! Students are really excited to have a music program with show choirs and general music electives, but we are all looking forward to the day we can have some instrumental music and guitar classes! This grant is definitely a step in the right direction."

ACA's Music Department offers general music for every 2nd, 3rd and 4th grader. The 4th graders also get to learn a musical instrument and play the recorder. The 6th graders get to take a World Music Class where they learn to sing in over 10 languages while learning about other countries and cultures. They put on a Veteran's Day, Winter Concert and Spring Showcase each year. In addition, all 6th- 8th graders may elect to take Women's Choir, Show Choir and Mixed Choir for different levels of musical performance through singing. Check out more info HERE.
