BIG NEWS For the ACA Food Drive
Every year, ACA hosts a school-wide food drive to provide 40-50 food boxes to ACA families in need, for Thanksgiving. Our Middle School students are working tirelessly on the Food Drive, keeping a close count of donations ensuring we have everything we need to fill the boxes. Recently, the students realized we were running very low on donated Turkeys. ACA Teachers Give Back in a BIG Way!
ACA teachers and staff have big hearts and believe in our school. This year, we asked all of the teachers and staff if they wanted to participate in getting our school free money by participating in tax credits. MORE THAN HALF of the ACA staff responded with a resounding YES and throughout the year, they will be giving back a total of $10,000 in tax credits going straight to support extracurricular activities, college and career readiness, STEM and other programs! 5th Graders-BizTown-Teaches About Personal and Business Finance
Our 5th graders include in their weekly curriculum a section called BizTown. It's a hands on curriculum that exposes our 5th graders to working with personal finance, business finance and economics. Students learn about being consumers and they also learn the business side of economics. They are able to "create their own business plan, calculate operating costs, design a marketing campaign, apply for jobs, vote for city officials and explore careers" (Junior Achievement of Ar


1st Grade Literacy Dress Up Project
Last week, Mrs. Keldgord's 1st grade class was able to dress up as their favorite story book character. What was even better, parents were able to come in and participate in on the fun! Parents each brought snacks and treats for the students and the students rotated to the stations each of the parents ran and read from their books. Students went home with tons of treats and parents enjoyed getting to play a part in the fun!
